We'll Let the Rest Of The World Go By

LET THE REST OF THE WORLD GO BY A SONG FROM 1919 'With someone like you, a pal good and true, I’d like to leave it all behind and go and find. A place that’s known to God alone. Just a spot we could call our own. We’ll find perfect peace, Where joys never cease, Out there beneath a kindly sky. We’ll build a sweet, little nest, Somewhere in the west, And let the rest of the world go by." Well it didn't quite turn out like we intended...but we tried...

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up. ~Pablo Picasso

Life beats down and crushes the soul and art reminds you that you have one. ~Stella Adler

I created a work-space for painting-sewing-etc...in my little "office".  Barb had a piece of glass (table-top) in her attic that she had used for a display table at her shop...(A Gentle Touch Salon & Spa...see on Facebook)
I found two old pieces of cabinets at Habitat....(solid wood $35)....cleaned them up----painted-added a knob...and ---WaLa! I have a new place to paint-sew-craft- etc...

Cara was the first to use it !!!

daughters... two out of three...

Nicki is here from Chicago for 10 days...putting her to work...

I moved the swing from the back yard - where no one ever used it - to the front at the end of the driveway...decided I needed something nicer than the gravel around it so Barb got me some small stones...prettier and smoother...

they were almost finished unloading it before I remembered to take some pictures..

How Does Your Garden Grow

The perennials have started peeking through the warmed-up garden soil,

the resilient pansies have their heads upright and bright,

the garden has been plowed, the leaves have been raked and mulched,

I've planted about 3 dozen bulbs...tulips, daffodils, irises, ...

and the renegade  tree has been trimmed...

to allow sun to shine on my front yard and enable grass to grow...

Rain, rain go away....bring it on...

we're ready to start prettying thing up again
